    Please review Ekstedt At The Yard! Dying to know what you think

      Well I’m curious enough to add it to my to-do list. Have you been?

      I note one of the comments on Google reviews says “You will have to search hard for a worse Sunday roast than what you get served at Eksted.”!!

    You don’t get out to the South east very much it seems. Nothing in Greenwich, Blackheath, Lewisham, Lee, Bromley or most of the surrounding area. Any plans to start covering it?

      It’s a good point. But another good point is that I live in Harrow so getting to places like Lewisham, Bromley, etc takes 1.5 hours each way – if the Met line is working! It can be painful enough travelling to central London!

      Hangovers, masks, it being more difficult to persuade accomplices to travel further – there are lots of reasons that put me off, but I will try to make the effort again at some point…soonish…very ish!

      If there is one place I should review, where would you say?

    @Linda
    ‘The Claddagh Ring’, Irish boozer I presume? Please tell me it’s not green with shamrocks ☘ everywhere!

    I must say, ‘Dartmouth Castle’ in Hammersmith, has been by far the best roast I have even had and that was 8 years ago. I’ve been to so many during that time and nothing has even come close.
    Everything from the meat, gravy, the potatoes, down to the greens. Usually there’s always one thing that they will bugger up but, there was not one thing to complain about. Saying that, that was 8 years ago and perhaps the chefs and owners have changed. Need to return there to see if it’s still as good as the one I had 8 years ago.

      Never heard of it before! Well do let me know if it is as good as 8 years ago…my to-do list is a tad overwhelming at the moment and government seems to keep closing the pubs 🙁

    The best roast I’ve tasted was in The Claddagh Ring in Hendon. Absolutely unbeatable home cooked food and the best service ever.
    Consistently amazing on every visit. So good it’s spoiled the ‘sunday roast’ experience for us. Never beaten, fabulous food.

      It feels curveball enough to interest me! I actually tried to order from them via Deliveroo in lockdown 1 but they kept cancelling my order.

    The Crown & Goose in Camden used to do the best roasts on the planet. Their gravy was red wine, red onion with strips of red onion in the gravy.
    Is there a pub anywhere in London that makes this divine gravy recipe?
