Best Crackling In London

Best Crackling In London

So…where can you find the best crackling in London?

The Fox & Pheasant, Chelsea

Loved: Everything really, but especially the smoky parsnip puree, great yorkie and most of the crackling.

Loathed: Erm...roast potatoes could have been crispier, but were still good.

The Bobbin, Clapham

Loved: Crispy roast potatoes! In London! Tasty crackling, good carrots...

Loathed: Nothing really. Pork belly was good - but I think they could do better.

The Lighterman, King’s Cross

Loved: Quite thick meat-stock gravy, succulence of the pork balanced the crispy crackling perfectly.

Loathed: The service was poor – inattentive, unhelpful and frankly useless, bar the young lady going upstairs to get us extra gravy. The Yorkshire pudding odd, one spud bad.

Black Dog Beerhouse, Brentford

Loved: The pork belly was spectacular - close to perfection and that crackling too...wow

Loathed: Potatoes felt fried, gravy felt very diluted (though tasty)

Albert’s Schloss, Soho

Loved: Well I totally loved the pork knuckle - crackling itself was sensational, properly edible and gooey, with a crunch, plus lots of juicy pork meat too. And the venue is great fun.

Loathed: Watery gravy was the biggest crime, along with a general lack of seasoning/flavour.
